Public Defender

The Lawrence County Public Defender represents persons as appointed by judges sitting in Lawrence County. People who have certain cases pending in the Circuit Court of Lawrence County who are not able to pay for private legal representation can have the Public Defender appointed. These include persons charged with misdemeanors, felonies, certain traffic cases, child protection violations, delinquent acts or petitions for post-trial or post-conviction relief.
